Krushevo is a town with a rich cultural and historical heritage, known for its museums, galleries, and monuments that tell the story of the struggle for freedom and the development of Macedonian culture. Throughout the town there are important institutions such as the Museum of the Ilinden Uprising and the Krushevo Republic, the Museum of the National Liberation War, the Nikola Martinoski Gallery, the Foundry Museum, and the Icon Gallery in the Church of St. John.

These sites present the historical, artistic, and spiritual life of Krushevo—from the revolutionary events of 1903, through the National Liberation War, to the rich tradition of icon painting and contemporary art. Because of this, Krushevo is often called a museum city, a place where every street, house, and exhibition tells a part of its history.
